Therefore, the system is enabled to detect after a certain magnitude. When the seismic event exceeds the threshold defined by the user, the sensor directs the moving elevator to the nearest floor. "It opens the doors and puts the elevator out of service until it is manually reset by an authorized maintenance technician. A warning is given between 7 and 30 seconds in advance, depending on the depth of the earthquake. Even if it is 7 seconds, it is sufficient for the elevator to stop at the nearest stop and give the necessary warning." Noting that the earthquake sensor is approved by the American Seismic Research Institute, Osman Arslan stated that it should be installed in buildings located in cities in the earthquake zone.
